Hyperballad Studios is a multi-room recording facility located in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  

Custom designed from the ground up by legendary studio technician John Klett, our space provides a wonderfully inspiring and refreshing experience for recording music.  Spread over 2500 feet and three rooms, natural light and open areas mix with stunning acoustics to create an unbeatable vibe for creating and capturing sounds.   

In terms of equipment, our studio features the finest recording gear from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s, and we offer these vintage devices alongside the most cutting-edge digital technology and new outboard gear for a seamless integration of modern and classic approaches.  Our Studio “A” is built around a 24 channel vintage Neve 80 Series console and BCM10 sidecar, and our Studio “B” features a modern Zahl AM1 desk, one of only a handful in North America. 

In addition, we have one of the most extensive collections of vintage synthesizers in the city, including virtually all of the iconic instruments from Moog, Roland, EMS, and Sequential Circuits  Furthermore, our fully-grounded and transformer-isolated technical power insures a clean, quiet, and smooth sound, regardless of what’s happening at Con Ed that day.

Although equipment and design are both significant, we believe that a studio’s culture is perhaps the most important element in the recording experience.  Hyperballad is owned and operated by co-founders Jonathan “JB” Benedict and Rob Niederpruem, who are both dedicated to maintaining a safe, fair, and respectful space for all musicians and producers.  

We are located just off the L Train Montrose stop on Meserole Street, a colorful, graffiti-filled strip of venues, studios, rehearsal spaces, restaurants, and bars.  Our large lounge space can be used for meetings and shows, and we have hosted many events over the years, including partnered events with Sisters Unsigned and Gender Amplified.  Our studio has also been used as a shooting location for indie films and brands such as Microsoft, Nissan, Free People, and more.  Please contact us for rates, availability, and location fees.
